【摘要】文中介绍了EPON的特点及在日本的应用情况，阐述了我国发展EPON需考虑的问题及其发展趋势，结合实际提出了EPON系统在实际设计与应用中的一些问题，最后，探讨了EPON技术的发展及应用前景。
